Overview:

The FCKEditor is a free open source web based text editor.  It is awesome!  However, it does not provide the ability for web users to overwrite images or delete images that have already been uploaded to the server.  This is also true of overwritting/deleting other file types that have been uploaded through the FCKEditor file browser.

To overcome the limitation and allow image/file deletions, we have developed a set of modifications to the FCKEditor.  The steps we used to make the improvements are available in Microsoft Word documents via the links below.

NOTE: This solution is a derivative of the solution provided by Bramus on www.bram.us - Thank you Bramus.  Visit his website if you are using the PHP version of FCKEditor and need to add the ability to delete images/files.

Guides:

Below are two guides for implementing the delete feature in FCKEditor.  The first guide is free and provides plenty of detail for a moderate level web developer.  The second guide can be purchased for a small fee and provides step-by-step details about how we were able to impelement the overwrite feature.
